Museums and Cathedral

This blog post follows on from Adventure begins with a picnic

After our visit to The Mall, we went to Armagh County Museum and Bunny knew one of the curators and one of them knows her family. Bunny asked if she could take a few pics of me and they said yes, would be okay if only took a few pics and it was of some of the exhibits. As long as it wasn't too many then it would be okay. Below are pics that I wanted taken :)

I also saw pocket watches that were really, really old! Even older than Bunny! They were very pretty but much larger than mine. We also saw bog oak jewellery that the Victorians wore during times of mourning and lots of other stuff too! Also they had some lovely artwork too, some painted by local artists. I got a free postcard of the Armagh's coat of arms before we left this museum.

Next we went a bit further along, still on The Mall and visited the Royal Irish Fusiliers Regimental Museum. Bunny asked if she could take pics of me, they said "No problem" so below are pics that we took during our visit.  The first pic is beside a height chart of how I'd measure up the height of a soldier in 1793. I'd have been very small compared to them!

Look at the knives! Also the drawers are full of medals and some have got stars/emblems in them too.

Before we left I got a Royal Irish Fusiliers cap badge and Bunny helped me to put it onto my shirt! :) Also the curator asked for the link to my blog :) Bunny wrote it down for him but I forgot to sign the visitor's book :(  Maybe next time we go and visit I will remember to sign it.

Then we left the museum and went through the town, Bunny carried me because she said it would be safer. Then she said we had to sit on the library steps because that's what everyone in Armagh does and that she used to sit on them when she was younger and still does. So we sat on the library steps for a short time. Below pic of me sitting on the library steps :)

When I was sitting on the steps there was a lady eating ice-cream and she offered some to me! It was lovely and cool :) It was vanilla with strawberry sauce and chocolate sprinkles on it!

I thanked the lady for some of her ice-cream then we walked up the hill and stopped off in the Market Place Theatre for a walk around it and the people there wanted to talk to me :) They said that I was a lovely Lion :) and they loved my shoes! :D

They had some art on the walls so we walked around and looked at those and then walked up St. Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral, we sat on a bench in the gardens for a short while then we walked up the hill and the next pic was taken outside of the Cathedral :)
